Let us tell you about this beautiful Helwig Winery Wedding……
We were lucky enough to shoot another Helwig Winery Wedding this year. Even more so, we were lucky enough to meet Ashley and Mark. These two… let me tell you, they are THE NICEST COUPLE EVER. They are fun, sincere, gracious, and they love each other a WHOLE STINKIN’ LOT. We’ve been completely in awe of the two of them since the moment we all met in our little living room and enjoyed a hour of good conversation and the excitement of wedding day planning.
Ashley and Mark live in Chattanooga, TN. They met at a famous little bar in Nashville called Tootsies. Ashley asked Mark, a perfect (and cute!) stranger to bring her a shot of Fireball as he was venturing through the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd to the bar. He came back with two shots and that was the beginning of a match made in Heaven. (see their cute wedding day shot of fireball below!)
Ashley is from the Sacramento area and because California has such amazing weather, the couple decided that there was no doubt their October wedding should take place in CA. BEST LAID PLANS. They found Helwig winery, fell in love with all the beautiful sights and booked their wedding. Well, things don’t always go the way you want them to, and when the wedding weekend came, they left a sunny-skied Tennesse to land in the midst of a very rainy California. Being the level headed couple that they are, they resisted the temptation to let the rain ruin anything. I had a phone call with Ashley the day before the wedding and her words were something along the lines of: “It’s disappointing, but we just keep reminding each other to stay positive and appreciate the whole experience even if it rains.” And they did. The two of them were all smiles (except for the more emotional happy teared moments) ALL day. The rain graced the dry California land off and on a little bit all day long, allowing us to shoot outside in between, as needed. At dusk, as if it had been given permission, the sky opened up and DRENCHED the vines for a few good hours while everyone danced the night away under the shelter of their event tent. The rain only added to the magic.
These two appreciate each other. It shows in everything they do. They count their blessings, they put each other first, and their marriage will be steadfast.
